We’ll, I’m officially 13 weeks pregnant now. I think that means I’m going into my second trimester. They say that’s good news because the horrible morning sickness I’ve been having should start going away. Some days its better, but it’s definitely not gone yet. It started in my 7th week and the last 6 weeks have felt like 6 months.
I’ve lost 3 pounds so far but my belly is definitely getting bigger. I’ve officially switched to maternity pants. They’re just so much more comfortable than using a ponytail holder to close my pants up. I’ve also been window shopping for maternity clothes but I wonder if I just need to invest in a couple of pop-up tents for the last trimester. I can’t imagine how big my belly is going to get. I pulled up pictures on the internet, which was a bad idea.
We’ve started the process of looking for a new car. We test drove a mini-van….hold up…did I just say a mini-van? WOW. Never thought I’d hear those words coming out of my mouth. We really liked it. It’s a used Nissan Quest. It’s really nice; has leather, DVD player, sunroof, moon roof, heated front seats (sweet!), auto-open doors, etc. It’s perfect for our needs. And it would lower our car payment.
We’re also looking into adding on to the house. Would love a master suite and a den but I think the master suite is the biggest need. We considered moving but we really like where we are, selling our house would be a bear, and 4 bedroom houses on an acre lot are about twice the price of our current house. We’ve got one builder coming by Friday to give us their estimate.
We also found out that in 5 weeks, towards the end of March, we’ll get a 2nd level ultrasound. That’s where they’ll look at the babies and their ovens to see if there are any signs of anything wrong, including genetic disorders. We’ll also be able to tell the sex of the babies. Woohoo! I can’t wait for that. I want to know what they are so bad.
Speaking of their sex, Rocky wants to keep the names of the babies a secret again. Once we find out what they are, we’ll decide on names but don’t ask ‘cause we ain’t tellin’.
Well, I guess that pretty much sums up the first trimester. The second should prove to be even more exciting. Not as exciting as the third, I’m sure!
