Counting down to Baby Heglar's arrival

My Aunt Bim and my Mom both reminded me recently that I had not updated my blog in quite a while.  It's not that not much has been going on...actually it's just the opposite.  A LOT has been going on.  We've had multiple baby showers, which means lots of great gifts to put away and many Thank You cards to write.  We've also had a few health issues we've been dealing with.

On the health issues, he's the long story short.  My blood pressure has been near the 140/90 threshold the last couple of weeks and my hands, feet, ankles and legs have been swelling.  Together, these are cause for concern.  It's a condition called preeclampsia and it basically beens blood flow can be restricted causing harm to both me and the baby.  The only cure is delivery but there are things you can do to help, such as lay off the salt, reduce stress, and keep you feet above your heart.  The last one is the hardest for me.  There's so much to do with weeks, maybe days before the baby arrives that it's hard to stay off my feet.  But alas, it's come down to either do it or risk harming myself or the baby and that's just not an option.

In other news, Linda, Rocky's Mom finished the baby bedding and my Mom finished painting the walls.  So here's some pics of everthing:

As you can see, we have a few more things to do.  We'd like to hang 2 wall shelves so we can put baskets on them that will hold stuff for changing diapers.  We also need to figure out how we're going to display his name (and we're still not telling what it is!!!).

We've washed what we think he will wear the first two weeks but only time will tell if it will fit.  I was 7lb11oz and and Rocky was (gulp) 10lb6oz so this baby could be anywhere in between or beyond.  Most newborn stuff is for less than 8lb so we may go straight to 0-3 months.

Well, that's about it for right now.  I've got supper cooking and Rocky should be home soon.

If you haven't gone to my facebook page and given your guess as to his weight and birth date, do it before it's too late.  The winner(s) will get some kind of gift...maybe rights to change the 1st poop (haha)!
