I'm sitting on the couch watching men's volleyball while Jake and Charlie sleep and Rocky plays on his computer. I'm looking around the room at all the 1000's of things that I need to or could be doing and thinking that I only have 1 more week before I go back to work. It makes me wonder where the time went and why didn't I do more with it. In retrospect, I actually did do lots with my time. Charlie is beginning to get on a schedule, the house is pretty clean, and the yard looks halfway decent. The garden is starting to pay us back, our friends and family have been able to keep up with Charlie via Facebook, and we even managed to spend some time at the beach and lake just enjoying our new family. And no matter how many weeks I take off, there still would be 1000's of things that I need to or could be doing.
So, what will I do with my last week? Unpack my non-maternity summer wardrobe to make sure I have clothes that I can wear. I'm a little concerned that although I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight, my shape has changed enough that clothes may not fit. Did someone say "shopping"? I'd also like to get all my pictures put on CDs and printed so I can at least start designing my scrapbooks. I have taken literally 1000's since Charlie was born. And there's always the junk room. Don't get me started talking about it.
For now, I think I'll go eat an Oreo cookie. That sounds like a perfect thing to do!
