Rocky and I are sitting on the couch together, pretty much still in awe from our day. I must say, it's ending completely different than I thought it would. It started last night. As I was getting ready for bed, we had a pregnancy scare. We called my Mom and told her what was going on and we agreed we'd stay in touch during the night. I talked to her again around 3am and found out we were all pretty much staying awake. But things were looking promising so we attempted to get some sleep. First thing this AM I called the doctor's office and they said we should go ahead and come in to see a nurse practitioner. It took almost an hour just to fill out the 29 page questionnaire. Finally I went in the back and they ran a couple of tests. They confirmed I was pregnant and did a quick exam. Everything looked okay. Then Rocky came back and we had our first ultrasound. We got to see the baby and hear it's heartbeat. It's beating at 178 beats per minute and measures about 8 weeks. That's a little over a centimeter. It should have hands a feet by now and it's growing my leaps and bounds. I go back next week for my regularly scheduled appointment so I can meet and talk with the doctor. Until then, we continue to pray that things go well and that Baby Heglar continues to grow!
PS. The black area is the sac. The peanut inside it is Cletus. Head to the right, bottom to the left.
