As I write this, my first thought is that Sept 21 sounds so familiar…like it’s somebody’s birthday. I’d guess either Heather or Justin’s. (Mental note to follow up on that). What’s so sad is that I’ll probably go to Facebook to get my answer. So random thought number two is how unthoughtful we’ve become since the invention of iPhones, social websites, email, etc. It took me months to remember my own husband’s phone number. Should something happen and the Earth looses electricity and I forget to come to dinner in response to the e-vite you sent me…first shame on me for not remembering and second…shame on you for holding that against me when the Earth has lost electricity!
Next random thought…I’m so tired of hearing about Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. I know there are some people out there that care…but I’m not one of them. Why do the media fill our heads with such trash? Why can’t they report on random acts of kindness that people do or experience? Or tell us how some kid in Michigan overcame adversity to win the school spelling bee. I think I’d rather listen to static then hear that dribble.
What else…oh yeah. I left myself a message about this one. I’ve got this children’s CD that I keep in the car for Charlie. You know the one. Every Mom has one. It’s got songs like BINGO, Sally the Camel, 5 Little Monkey’s Jumping on the Bed…etc. I think there is 25 in all. Anyhoo, I try to always either leave the radio off when Charlie and I are in the car alone or play this CD for him. Right now he’s lovin’ some “I like to eat, eat, eat Applies and Bananas”, although it ranks up there as one of the most annoying songs to Mommy. But that’s what Mommies do, right? Right? Back to the story…I’ve got this CD…and sometimes I forget to turn it off after I’ve dropped Charlie off. Today I found myself cruising down HWY 85 singing some “The other day (the other day) I met a bear (I met a bear), Up in the woods (up in the woods) a way up there (a way up there…” Luckily, my windows were up and no one knew any different.
Later gators!
