Last night we received a tour of the hospital we'll have little Cletus in. It's CMC NE in Concord. We had trouble finding the maternity ward and where to park so we created a map to show you how to get there. The link can be found
here and our the blog homepage on the lefthand side. There are 3 pages to the map.
Page 1 shows you how to enter the hospital from I-85 and Hwy 29. You park in lot H and then you enter the Mariam Cannon Hayes Family Center Buidling. Hospital signs generally refer to it as the Family Center.
Page 2 is a more detailed map of the hospital and it shows the layour of the first floor. This is the floor where the waiting room is (with vending machines), triage (where I go to determine if I'm really in labor and need to be admitted) the labor and delivery rooms, the operating rooms (if needed), the high risk OB (where Mom would go if she had complications after delivering, and the NICU (where Cletus would go if he had complications after birth). This map also shows where the hospital cafeteria is located. This floor is open 24/7 and does not have limited visiting hours.
However, we would like to ask that everyone wait to visit us in the hospital until after the baby is born. I will be attempting a natural birth and will need to focus with everything I have to get through it.
Page 3 is also a more detailed map of the hospital and shows the layout of the second floor. This is the floor where we will move 1 hour after delivery, if all goes well. This is also the floor where the nursery is located, although I plan on keeping him in the room with us as much as possible.
Visitors are welcome any time except 2-4 PM and 2-4 AM. This time is set aside for Mommies, Daddies, and Babies to catch up on sleep. All we ask is that you please knock before entering the room.
Hospital policy will dictate we stay for 24-48 hours.
The hospital cafeteria hours are:
- Breakfast - 6:30 AM - 10 AM
- Lunch - 11 AM - 1:30 PM
- Dinner - 4 PM - 6:30 PM
- Snacks and drinks are available during the hours in between meal service at both the cafeteria and the vending machines in the lower level of the hospital.
